World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day on the 5th March this year and were really impressed by the children’s inventive costume ideas! As a year group we spent the day celebrating our love of reading and the children looked at some of their teachers favourite books!

In 5G, children looked at Survivors by David Long and created their own illustrations and pieces of writing in response to the story that they looked at. They also wrote some fabulous book reviews!

The children in 5S looked at the book The Arrival by Shaun Tan and a letter from the perspective of one of the main characters.

Mr Oaks shared his favourite book, The Hobbit, with 5A and the children created their own illustrations of a Hobbit and wrote a diary entry from the point of view of Bilbo Baggins when he first met the fearsome dragon, Smaug!

The children in 5M looked at the book The Heart and the Bottle by Oliver Jeffers.
