Pop Bang Colour!

On Thursday 5th December we had a day full of wonderful creative activities.

In our classrooms we looked at the work of Jackson Pollock. We learnt a lot about this artist and discussed his interesting work using ‘Drip Painting‘.

We then explored tints and shades using a base colour and gradually adding white to make a series of tints and black to make a series of shades.

Ian Cook (a talented local artist) then took us into the studio to make some fantastic art inspired by his unique work. To create this wonderful art we didn’t use paint brushes… we used toy cars! We firstly created a colour wheel, blending the different colours by using the wheels of the cars. It was then time to paint a portrait of our partners using toy cars in different ways to create different textures on the page.

We had so much fun exploring different methods of creating art. We definitely enjoyed getting a little messy too!
